SHAWNEE – Looking to remain perfect in Great American Conference play, Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball heads to Ada, Oklahoma, to face the only other Oklahoma team in the league with an unblemished mark. The Lady Bison will look to push their win streak to six when they meet East Central at 7 p.m. inside the Kerr Activities Center.

Oklahoma Baptist (9-7, 3-0 GAC) currently owns a share of the top spot in the GAC standings after going a 2-0 against Southeastern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene last week. The Lady Bison got big matches from their middle hitters last week, as Cadyn Laing and Taylor Williams led the team with 2.44 and 2.33 kills per set while hitting .348 and .295 respectively. Oklahoma Baptist as a team is averaging 11.63 kills/set, led by Nicole Fleitman with 2.92 kills/set. Kynnedy Myers is averaging 8.58 assists per set.

Defensively, the Lady Bison rank second in the league in blocks per set (2.10) and third in digs per set (16.78). Sierra VeraCruz owns the team lead at 3.80 digs/set, though Shekinah Sharpe isn't far behind at 3.44 digs/set. Laing and Williams have been strong at the net, averaging 1.15 and .78 blocks/set, respectively. Laing also leads the GAC with 19 solo blocks.

East Central (3-10, 1-0 GAC) just snapped an eight-match losing skid with a straight-sets win over Southeastern to open league play. Offensive production has been an issue for ECU, as they rank at the bottom of the league in hitting percentage (.104) and kills/set (10.06). Lily Porsa has kept the back row together, ranking fourth in the GAC 4.61 digs/set.

The Lady Bison take the rest of the week off. They will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 4 when they welcome Southwestern Oklahoma State to the Noble Complex for a 7 p.m. match.
