Lady Bison Soccer Hosts Ouachita

Ouachita (1-4-1, 1-0 GAC) at Oklahoma Baptist (3-2, 0-1 GAC) Saturday, Sept. 24, 1 p.m. Shawnee, Okla. (OBU Soccer Complex) Match Notes

SHAWNEE – The Lady Bison are set to play host to Ouachita in a Great American Conference contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the OBU Soccer Complex. It is the second of three straight home matches to open the conference slate for Oklahoma Baptist.
 
Oklahoma Baptist (3-2, 0-1 GAC) saw their offense stall out on Thursday night in the conference opener against Harding, falling 3-0. Emma Beck posted her first 10-save performance of the season in the loss; it was her fourth match in the last two years where she reached double figures in saves. She is currently second in the conference in save percentage at .789, while she moved up to third in saves per match after Thursday night, averaging six saves per contest.
 
Offensively, it was the first time the Lady Bison have been shutout since the season opener. Abigail Hicks is currently tied for sixth in the GAC with 1.2 points per match after recording two goals and two assists last week. Ruth King is also in the conference top 10 with an average of one point per match.
 
Ouachita (1-4-1, 1-0 GAC) found the back of the net for the first time on Thursday night in a 2-0 win over Southern Nazarene, having been shutout in the five previous matches. Dina Harper and Alyssa Hardin are tied for the team lead with one goal each. Defense hasn't been an issue for the Tigers, as Erin Webster has posted two clean sheets this season and holds a league-leading .891 save percentage, as well as a .96 goals-against average.
 
Conference action resumes for OBU on Tuesday, Sept. 27 when they host rival Southern Nazarene at the OBU Soccer Complex for a 6 p.m. tilt.
