MARYVILLE, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist suffered two more setbacks at the Green and Gold Challenge, falling in straight sets to both Northwest Missouri State and No. 24 Rockhurst inside the Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Missouri.

The Lady Bison were led offensively over the course of two matches by
Mikayla Watson, who had 17 kills, and
Nicole Fleitman, who finished her weekend with 16. Oklahoma Baptist struggled to find an attacking identity in the first match, but started to find a rhythm against Rockhurst, where they hit .169, their best hitting percentage in five matches.

Kynnedy Myers had 44 assists during the day, and also contributed seven kills and 19 digs.
Sierra VeraCruz led the team with 27 total digs.
Cadyn Laing was strong at the net with seven total blocks.

"I thought we really started to find an identity, find a groove, against Rockhurst that I wish we could have had for the whole weekend," said OBU head coach
Anna Howle. "I think we'll grow better as a team from this, and we're really excited where we'll go from here."

Oklahoma Baptist hosts Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. The match will serve as both their home and Great American Conference opener.
