Bison Blank Eagles

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – Oklahoma Baptist continued its scoreless inning streak, pushing Oklahoma Wesleyan into elimination mode with an 8-0 win in the NCCAA Central Regional Friday.

The Bison play in the championship game Saturday at noon.


Jinny Parra (11-3) fanned 10 batters and shut out the Eagles on five hits to move the OBU scoreless inning streak to 31 innings. This postseason, OBU has posted a one-hitter against Hillsdale Baptist and a no-hitter against McMurry.

The Bison first scored in the second inning on an RBI double by Kevin Olmeda and went up 2-0 with an RBI single by Felipe Gonzalez in the third inning.

The 2-0 lead was stagnant until the sixth when OBU got three runs on RBI doubles by Kyle Abblitt and Hunter Heath and an RBI single by Olmeda.

Brandon Cuddy brought home the remaining three runs with a bases-loaded double in the eighth.

OBU had 12 hits in the game, including three by Heath and two each by Gonzalez, Joseph Moran and Olmeda.

OBU improved to 36-15.
