SHAWNEE – Southwestern Christian hit four home runs and knocked off Oklahoma Baptist 9-8 at Bison Field Tuesday.
The Eagles scored first on an RBI single by Michael Lowe in the third inning, but the Bison took a 2-1 lead in the home half of that inning on a sacrifice fly by Dustyn Cook and an RBI double by Brandon Cuddy.
SCU went up 4-2 in the fifth on a three-run home run by Michael Lowe.
The Bison looked like they might take control with a six-run seventh, including an RBI triple by Cuddy, an RBI single by Hunter Heath, a three-run home run by Felipe Gonzalez and an RBI single by Cook.
The Eagles added two in the eighth on a two-run home run by Haskell Browning and took the lead with three runs on home runs by Justin Braziel and Drew Umbro in the top of the ninth.
Blake Whitehead took the pitching loss.
OBU had nine hits in the game, including three by Gonzalez and two by Cuddy.
The Bison return to action this weekend with three Great American Conference games at Southeastern Oklahoma State. OBU plays a single game Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
