ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas – Oklahoma Baptist scored 10 runs for the first time since February and took a doubleheader from Ouachita Baptist, 10-7 and 4-3, Saturday.
The Lady Bison scored two runs in the second inning of the opener on an RBI double by Caitlin Hall and a wild pitch.
Ouachita took a 4-2 lead in the home half of that inning, but OBU answered with three in the third to take the lead for good. Miranda Garza ripped a three-run double for the 5-4 lead.
Garza added an RBI single in the fifth and OBU made it a 10-4 game with four runs in the sixth, including an RBI ground out by Shalee Cordell, an RBI single by Kasey Jo Burgess and a two-run home run by Madison Vaughan.
The Lady Bison had 11 hits in the game, getting two apiece from Vaughan, Garza and Kasey Maddox.
Amanda Peterson picked up the win with six innings of relief.
The Lady Bison trailed 2-0 in the second game until the fourth when Garza delivered with a two-run single to tie the game.
Oklahoma Baptist made it 4-2 in the sixth on a solo home run by Hannah Morris and an RBI single by Hall.
Haylee Zimmerman (4-4) got the win with Peterson picking up her first save.
The Lady Bison had 10 hits, including two each by Burgess, Vaughan, Garza and Hall.
OBU closes out the Great American Conference schedule next weekend, hosting Henderson State in doubleheaders at 3 p.m., Friday and 1 p.m., Saturday.
