SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – Harding paired 15 hits with eight stolen bases to take a 5-2, 7-5 sweep of Oklahoma Baptist in Great American Conference softball action Friday.
OBU led 1-0 in the opener when Kasey Maddox singled in Madison Vaughan in the third inning, but Harding started the fourth with two walks and a two-run single by HU's Mackenzie Jones off OBU's McKenzie Jones. Courtney Derrick added a two-run double for a 4-1 Harding lead.
Hannah Morris scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the fourth. Amanda Berdon added an RBI single for Harding in the sixth.
OBU had seven hits, including three singles by Vaughan.
Harding scored a run in each of the first two innings of the second game, using a solo home run by Alexus Lawellin and an RBI single by Berdon.
OBU scored all five of its runs in the second inning on a two-run home run by Maddox and a three-run single by Shalee Cordell. Cordell's two-RBI single was played into three runs with an error in right.
Brookelynn Moon homered for Harding to make it 5-4 in the fourth and the Bisons took the lead with a three-run fifth on a two-run single by Moon and an RBI single by Berdon.
Amanda Peterson took the pitching loss.
OBU had five hits, including a double and a single by Cordell.
The same two teams meet in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday to sew up the four-game series.
