SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist split a Saturday doubleheader with Harding, closing out the four-game series with an 8-0 run-rule victory.
Harding won the opener 9-3.
The Bisons scored the first five runs of the opener with a first-inning RBI double by Peyton Mills, a two-run double by Kimmy Hendricks and an RBI single by Kinsey Beck in the third and an RBI single by Alexus Lawellin in the fourth.
OBU got on the scoreboard with two runs in the fourth with an RBI single by Kasey Maddox and an RBI double by Haylee Zimmerman.
HU tacked on four more runs in the fifth, led by a two-run single by Courtney Derrick.
The Lady Bison got the final run of the game in the seventh when Kasey Jo Burgess scored on a throwing error after a Shalee Cordell double.
OBU had eight hits, including two each by Cordell and Madison Vaughan.
Bailee Saye (2-2) took the loss.
McKenzie Jones shut out Harding on two hits and six strikeouts in her five-inning complete game.
OBU scored three in the second when Corbi Parasich ripped a three-run home run off the left field foul pole.
OBU picked up three more runs in the third on a two-run single by Jill Shipman and a theft of home by Hannah Morris.
The Lady Bison made it 7-0 in the fourth on an RBI single by Burgess and Shipman finished off the game with an RBI double in the fifth.
OBU had five hits in the game, led by Shipman's two.
Now 5-12 overall and 3-9 in the GAC, the Lady Bison are scheduled to visit Arkansas Tech for four games next weekend.
