OBU Blanks Rogers State

CLAREMORE – Bailee Saye quieted Rogers State to give Oklahoma Baptist a 5-0 road win Tuesday.

Saye (4-2) scattered six singles and struck out six batters in her complete-game win for her first shutout of the season.

OBU scored three times in the first inning. Caitlin Hall took one for the team with the bases loaded for an RBI hit by pitch. Hannah Morris added an RBI single and Kasey Maddox drove in a run on a fielder's choice for a 3-0 lead.

Vaughan drove in the fourth run on a fielder's choice in the second inning for the 4-0 lead and, following a pattern, Saye got an RBI fielder's choice in the fifth.

The Lady Bison collected nine hits in the game, including two each by Shalee Cordell and Morris.

Now 9-17, the Lady Bison host Southwestern Oklahoma State in a four-game set starting with a 3 p.m. doubleheader Thursday.
