Lady Bison Split in Alva Again

ALVA – Oklahoma Baptist split its final two games in Alva, beating Northwestern Oklahoma State 3-1 before falling 4-2 in the finale.

Haylee Zimmerman (2-1) allowed one unearned run in the opener, that coming in the bottom of the first inning. She struck out three over seven innings, allowing four hits.

OBU broke up Madison Garza's shutout attempt in the sixth inning when Kasey Jo Burgess walked ahead of Madison Vaughan's two-run home run.

The Lady Bison added another run in the top of the seventh when Kasey Maddox doubled and Jill Shipman singled home pinch runner Corbi Parasich.

OBU trailed the second game 2-0 before tying things in the fourth on RBIs by Shipman and Harlee Griffis.

The Rangers scored two unearned runs off of McKenzie Jones in the bottom of the fourth for the win.

OBU had six hits, including two by Griffis.

The Lady Bison play at Rogers State Tuesday at 4 p.m.
