SHAWNEE – Midwestern State picked up two wins against Oklahoma Baptist in softball Wednesday, 14-3 and 2-0.
OBU scored three runs on two hits and two MSU errors in the first game. Two runs scored after Hannah Morris' single was followed up by a throw mishandled at first base, which allowed the ball to get into the dugout.
Morris scored from third on an RBI ground out by Jill Shipman. That rally, however, came after a six-run second inning by the Mustangs and was all OBU put on the board the rest of the night.
OBU had just two hits in the game.
McKenzie Jones took the game two loss despite allowing just four hits and striking out a career-best 10 batters. She allowed solo home runs in the second and seventh innings.
The Lady Bison had six hits, including two each by Madison Vaughan and Harlee Griffis.
Kasey Maddox was hit by a pitch in the second game for a school career record 38th time.
Now 6-15, the Lady Bison play four games at Northwestern Oklahoma State this weekend, starting Friday at 2 p.m.
