Box Score (xml)

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Lady Bison put up at least 14 goals for the third-straight game en route to a 14-3 victory over Ottawa to close out a three-game home stand on Saturday afternoon.

For the second straight game, Oklahoma Baptist used their defense to trigger a relentless offense, recording 21 caused turnovers. It's the second game in a row that the Lady Bison have caused at least 21 turnovers, and they have 43 over the last two games.

Oklahoma Baptist got out to a hot start, putting up five goals inside the first 13 minutes of the game, including two each by Hannah Dowell and Paige Morrison. The Braves were able to pull one back on a fast break, but Hannah Dowell was able to restore the five-goal advantage soon after to complete a first-half hat trick. That goals sparked another OBU run, with Morrison scoring two, and Savannah Tompkins, Sarah Anderson and Emily Gilbert also putting their mark on the game. Tompkins' goal was the first of her career as a Lady Bison.

At halftime, the scoreboard read 12-1 in favor of the hosts. Following the restart, the Lady Bison and Ottawa traded goals, with both OBU tallies credit to Morrison.

"The ladies put in a solid week of practice and it absolutely showed on the field today," said OBU head coach Jordan Beech. "We had great contributions from everyone on the team."

Morrison led the way with six goals on ten shots, and also had four caused turnovers, three draw controls and two ground balls. She went 2-of-3 on free-position shots.

Dowell was second on the team with four goals, while contributing three ground balls, and also went 3-3 on free-position shots. Tompkins, Anderson, Gilbert and Emily Joslin all found the back of the net. They were helped by their efforts by Allison Ingrim, who had a team-high three assists, and Kari Callahan and Maysn Ungerer who had two helpers each.

Oklahoma Baptist collected 42 ground balls over all, and held a +24 advantage in the category. The total ties for the sixth-best mark for a single game in program history.

Sabrina Attaway picked up her second win of the season while allowing three goals and picking up one save.

OBU hits the road for seven consecutive games. First up is a game with Missouri Baptist in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, March 4th at 1 p.m.
