ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Playing in front of a hometown crowd,
Allison Ingrim recorded four points on three goals and one assist to help lead the Lady Bison to a rivalry win, 12-7, over Missouri Baptist. Oklahoma Baptist played spoiler on the day as the Spartans were playing in their home opener.
Ingrim got the scoring going at the 28:17 mark off a feed from
Emily Gilbert after the Lady Bison controlled the opening draw. Though the hosts levelled the score on a free-position shot soon after,
Alexis Martin sparked a three-goal run after
Paige Morrison spotted her open for an easy finish. Oklahoma Baptist stepped on the gas to close out the half, outscoring Missouri Baptist 5-1 over the final 12:52 of the first half.

Just like in the first half, Ingrim opened the scoring, this time after the Lady Bison burned 10 minutes off the clock. She picked up the pass from Martin and fired it home to put OBU up by six. Dowell scored 30 seconds later before
Sarah Anderson put an exclamation point on the win by picking off the clear by MBU's goalie right on the crease and immediately putting it in the goal on the way to a comfortable victory.
"It's great to see the hard work these ladies have been putting in at practice translating into on-field success," said OBU head coach
Jordan Beech. "Missouri Baptist was a quality test for us, and our defense really showed what it could. We expect more of the same execution tomorrow when we take on Rockhurst."
Martin had a game-high six points on three goals and three assists. Her three assists tied the program record for most assists in a game, as well as set the freshman record for the same category. She also had a team-best three draw controls that were expertly placed in her stick by Dowell.
Dowell was the Lady Bison's leading scorer, ripping in a game-high four goals. Ingrim matched Dowell's point total with four herself. Anderson, Gilbert, Morrison and Ungerer also contributed to the squad's 18 points.
