Oklahoma Baptist continued to get strong pitching and the bats finally awakened in time for the Lady Bison to split with Benedictine Friday.

McKenzie Jones was the hard-luck losing pitcher in the opener, allowing two unearned runs. Now 0-2, Jones has a 0.65 earned run average.
Amanda Peterson (1-0) kept her season ERA at 0.00 with a one-hit shutout.
The Ravens scored twice in the third inning of the opener on one hit and two errors. OBU got its lone run of the game in the bottom of the third when Jill Shipman scored on a throwing error during a run-down.
The Lady Bison had just three singles in the first game.
Peterson took a no-hitter into the top of the sixth before Alexis Richardson beat out a grounder to shortstop with one out.
The Lady Bison scored once in the first on an RBI fielder's choice by Shalee Cordell.
OBU packed on six more in the fourth with back-to-back RBI doubles by Corbi Parasaich and Jill Shipman, followed by RBI singles by Harlee Griffis, Caitlin Hall, Madison Vaughan and Hannah Morris.
Vaughan singled in the eighth and pinch runner Alex Gabriel scored the game-ending run on a double by Sam Barry.
All nine Lady Bison in the starting batting order had hits. OBU had 11 for the game, including two each by Vaughan and Morris.
Now 1-2, the Lady Bison play Benedictine at 2 and Friends at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
