Box Score (html)

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The comeback bid fell just short for Oklahoma Baptist, falling to Trinity Christian College, 3-2 (23-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 11-15), on Friday night in the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship Semifinals inside the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

The Lady Bison dropped the opening two sets of the contest before fighting back to even the affair up at 2-2. However, OBU suffered two big runs by Trinity Christian to see their title hopes end in the semifinals.

Sophomore Nicole Fleitman saved her best performance for last, laying down a team-high 20 kills while hitting .340 for the match. Freshmen Rachel Richie and Adonica Wright both set new career highs with 16 and 11 kills respectively. Kynnedy Myers dished out 49 assists, and her sophomore classmate Hayden Blair provided 15 to helpers.

Defensively, seniors Sierra VeraCruz and Shekinah Sharpe combined for 50 digs, with 29 from VeraCruz and 21 from Sharpe. Sophia Couto posted a team-best five total blocks.

Oklahoma Baptist finishes the season with a 23-15 record, including an 11-5 mark in Great American Conference contests, good for a third-place finish. The team has reached at least 23 wins in each season under OBU Head Coach Anna Howle since the program was revived prior to the 2008 season, as well as the seventh straight season of amassing 11 or more wins in conference play. It was also the second straight year for OBU to reach the NCCAA Championship Semifinals. The Lady Bison placed four on the All-GAC Volleyball team, as well as two on the All-OklahomaSports.Net team.

For VeraCruz and Sharpe, it was their final match in the Green-and-Gold.
