LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma Baptist hit 19 women's and six men's qualifying marks in the season-opening Bob Timmons Challenge, hosted by the University of Kansas.

Leah Molter won the 60 hurdles in a qualifying time of 8.68 seconds and Kim Mead also qualified at 9.83.

Destinee Allen won the 800 meters in 2:21.97 and OBU went 1-2-3 in that event with three qualifying times.
Shimoya Currie was second at 2:22.75 and
Sarah Gilstad was third ar 2:23.42.

Kya Barnes won the 400 meters in 58.35 seconds with
Breanna Hurlbut (1:00.29) and
JoziRose Mayfield (1:00.50) also qualifying.

Kaylee Large qualified in the 3,000 meters in 10:31.69.

McKae Mitchell led a quartet of Lady Bison to qualify in the 200 meters at 25.08 seconds.
Shariah Anderson followed at 26.60, with Molter at 26.75 and Candi Rodgers at 26.79. Mitchell also led a trio of Lady Bison qualifiers in the 60 meters at 7.85 seconds. Anderson (8.14) and
Candis Rodgers (8.19) joined her.

Sydney Long led the field events with two qualifying marks, clearing 5-1 in the high jump and 17-3.5 in the long jump.

Jennifer Baker also qualified in the shot put at 35-8.

The women's 4x400 relay placed third in 3:58.50 with Mitchell,
Abby Mayfield, Barnes and Allen running.

In the men's 60 meter hurdles,
Christopher Walker (8.51),
Brandon Crowley (8.55) and
Cayden Spain (8.67) all qualified, going 1-2-3 in their heat.

Brett Shovanec qualified in the 60 meters at 7:12 and Crowley made the qualifying time in the 200 meters at 23.19.

Spencer Lashley qualified in the pole vault, clearing 15-1.5.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Dakota Kapelle, Carlos Jones,
Christopher Walker and
Clayton Honeycutt placed sixth at 3:32.76.
