SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist made key adjustments in the second half and hung on for a 73-71 win over Rogers State Saturday in the Noble Complex.
Â
OBU trailed 37-36 at the half and Coach
Casi Bays emphasized rebounding and defense for the second half.
Â
"In the first half we didn't block out well and we didn't guard the three-pointers very well," Bays said. "We made the adjustment and came out in the second half and held them to two three-pointers and we got more rebounds."
Â
A shot at a third three-pointer of the half by RSU was well-contested and off target at the buzzer to stave off a strong Hillcat comeback.
Â
OBU led by as much as nine points in the fourth quarter.
Â
Cameerah Graves led OBU with 15 points, followed by
Aliyah White and
Lexi Williams with 14 apiece.
Tasha Edge added 11 points. White also hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds for a double-double with Edge getting seven.
Â
Now 2-4 after a 0-4 start, the Lady Bison return to action Monday when they host Manhattan Christian in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
