EMPORIA, Kansas – A jumper with 3.3 seconds left gave Missouri Southern State an 83-81 win over Oklahoma Baptist in the MIAA-GAC Crossover Saturday – the season opener for both teams.
A half-court shot by
Tasha Edge drew iron at the buzzer but didn't go in.
Katy Custer came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 20 points, hitting nine of 10 field goal attempts. Edge and
Aliyah White led the Lady Bison with 17 points each with Edge getting four three-pointers in five attempts, including the final shot.
McKenzie Cooper hit all six of her free throws and finished with 15 points.
Cooper had a team-best seven assists to go with five from
Cameerah Graves and four from
Lexi Williams.
White led OBU with six rebounds.
OBU returns to action Sunday against host and fourth-ranked Emporia State at 4 p.m.
