WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball continued their late season push following a 3-1 (25-22, 24-26, 25-16, 25-16) victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday night from inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford. With the win, OBU moves to 11-3 in Great American Conference play, and 17-11 overall.

Oklahoma Baptist raced out to a 10-3 lead early in the first set following a kill by
Kynnedy Myers off the set by
Hayden Blair. The Lady Bison increased their lead to as much as 19-10 following a solo block by
Rachel Richie, but would see their lead shrink to 21-20 following an OBU service error. Despite the late Bulldog rally, OBU got a pair of kills from
Sophia Couto to move 24-22.
Shekinah Sharpe laid down the final tally of the set to give the Lady Bison a 1-0 lead.

The second set saw the Lady Bison hit .137 and account for 15 kills, but were wasteful on the serve. As a result, the Lady Bison found themselves tied 1-1 heading into the third set.

The Lady Bison fell behind early in the third set, but battled back with a five-point run that was capped a solo block from
Nicole Fleitman that forced a SWOSU timeout. Southwestern Oklahoma State committed an error immediately out of the stoppage in play to put OBU up 14-12. Sharpe rattled off three consecutive service aces, sparking another five-point stretch that took the match to 23-20 in favor of the Green-and-Gold. Myers snuck an attack to the back corner of the floor to give OBU the set and a 2-1 lead.

Oklahoma Baptist largely made the fourth set a formality, gaining a 13-8 lead thanks to scores by Richie and Fleitman. The Lady Bison got six total blocks from Fleitman, Couto and
Cadyn Laing in a 6-1 run to claim a 20-10 advantage. Fleitman pushed the contest to match point soon after, and Couto deftly applied to finishing touches for OBU's third straight win, and second win in as many tries on the road.

Fleitman led the team with 14 kills against three errors for a team-best .297 hitting percentage. Laing was second on the team with 11 kills. Myers and Sharpe both had eight tallies, while Myers also dished out 39 assists.

Sierra VeraCruz accounted for 25 digs to lead the squad. Myers completed her double-double with 19 digs. Oklahoma Baptist out-blocked SWOSU 12-7, paced by Laing with six total blocks. Fleitman tied her season high with five total blocks, including one solo block.

Tuesday night's affair stands as OBU's only action of the week. They'll return to the floor on Tuesday, Nov. 8 for Senior Night against Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
