Â
Oklahoma Baptist (10-8, 4-1 GAC) moved into a tie for first place in the Great American Conference with a 3-0 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday night. The Lady Bison will look for
Sophia Couto, who led the team with 10 kills and four total blocks while hitting .500, to continue the good form she displayed during the first start of her career. She'll be aided by
Nicole Fleitman, who ranks eighth in the GAC at 2.93 kills per set, and
Shekinah Sharpe at 2.00 kills/set.
Kynnedy Myers is averaging 8.69 assists per set.
Â
On the defensive side, the second-ranked blocking team in the league at 2.09 blocks per set, should expect a big game from
Cadyn Laing given that Ouachita's opponents are averaging 1.91 blocks/set. The Lady Bison are limiting opponents to 12.58 kills/set, and Sierra VeraCrus is a big part of that at 3.78 digs per set.
Â
Ouachita Baptist (11-4, 3-2 GAC) has stumbled of late, taking just one win from their last three matches. The league's most-efficient offense with a .237 hitting percentage, and ranks fourth in kills at 12.45 kills/set. Adrianna Nolly leads the offense at a 2.96 kills/set clip. She's aided in large part by the league's leading setter in Stormi Leonard, who paces the conference at 10.62 assists/set. Defensively, opponents are averaging 12.45 kills/set and hitting .182 against a Tigers defense that ranks last in the league with 14.41 digs/set.
Â
