SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball continues their brief sojourn in western Oklahoma as they visit Weatherford on Tuesday, Nov. 1 to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center at 7 p.m. The Lady Bison are looking for a second series sweep in as many years over the Bulldogs after dropping SWOSU in straight sets in Shawnee earlier this season.

Oklahoma Baptist (16-11, 10-3 GAC) currently sits a half-game ahead of Harding in the battle for first place in the Great American Conference standings after winning both their league matches last week. The offense is paced by
Nicole Fleitman and
Cadyn Laing with set averages of 2.83 and 2.09 kills this season. They have received a boost in the last five matches by
Sophia Couto, who is averaging 1.80 kills per set over that span of time.
Kynnedy Myers is dishing out 8.62 assists per set, good for eighth place on the individual leaderboard.

Sierra VeraCruz has been a steadying force for the Lady Bison along the back row, averaging 4.72 digs per set over the last five matches; she is averaging 3.91 digs/set for the season. Laing is second in the conference at 1.09 blocks per set this term. Couto has added as much value to the defense as she has the offense, averaging 1.70 blocks/set over her last 10 sets played.

Southwestern Oklahoma State (10-14, 6-5 GAC) has overcome a slow start to the season, winning five of their last six matches and currently sit in eighth place in the GAC standings. Carly Zak has been one of the most dominant offensive players in the country, ranking fourth in Division II with 399 kills, and 12th in set average at 4.29. On the other side of the net, the defense is posting a GAC-low 15.16 digs/set, led by Kaitlyn Dillon with 3.89 digs/set.

Tuesday night's match is the only action for the Lady Bison this week. They will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 8 when they host Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. for Senior Night at the Noble Complex.
