Women's Soccer Defeats Harding

SEARCY, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist overcame an early deficit to defeat Harding 2-1 Friday night to wrap up a two-match Great American Conference road trip in Arkansas.

The Lady Bison take over third place in the GAC with the win, their second in a row. It was the fifth straight match away from Bison Hill. OBU is now 5-3 in GAC play, passing Harding at 4-4.

Harding struck early, taking a 1-0 lead five minutes into the match. OBU trailed for just 21 minutes before Kelsey Lowe scored the equalizer. Abigail Hicks assisted Lowe, who cleaned up a rebounded shot and beat the keeper for her second goal of the season.

Hicks scored in the 37th minute to give the Lady Bison a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish. Reagan Mann set up Hicks with a cross from the right side of the box, and Hicks' shot found the net in the bottom left corner for the game winner.

Emma Beck picked up the win, making four saves while allowing just one goal to the Bisons. Harding attempted 11 shots on the night, but just five were on target. Eight of the 11 Lady Bison shots tested the keeper.

Hicks paced OBU with four shots, including three on goal. Mann, Kenzi Bice, and Jennifer Goethe each attempted two shots in the winning effort.

Oklahoma Baptist, now 8-4, will end their season-high six match road streak at Southern Nazarene on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.
