Oklahoma Baptist struck first but couldn't hold back the Northeastern State attack as the No. 24 RiverHawks knocked off the Bison Thursday, 5-1.
The Bison got on top early with a goal from
Kervy Robles, using an assist from
Spencer Lange, in the fourth minute.
NSU answered in the 10
th minute with a Crosby Lee goal and the match was a 1-1 draw at halftime.
Justin Todd started a flurry of three quick goals for the RiverHawks in the 49
th minute, followed by a James Olmos goal 97 seconds later on a penalty kick. Joseph Garcia pushed one in 22 seconds after that.
Morgan Dizney finished off the scoring in the 83
rd minute.
OBU put six shots on goal for the evening, led by Robles with three.
Vicente Castillo had two shots on goal and
Junior Andrade added one.
Marcus Oliveira had four saves and allowed two goals in his 49:19 of action before leaving the game with injury.
Truman Berghall had a save and was charged with three goals allowed.
Now 1-5 on the season, the Bison start a string of five road games Saturday at Rogers State.
