Volleyball Headed to Tough Crossover

Oklahoma Baptist sends its 5-5 volleyball team into a tough crowd at the MIAA/GAC Crossover in St. Joseph, Missouri, Friday and Saturday.


 

OBU opens Friday with Missouri Western at 4 p.m. Saturday's action starts with No. 15 Nebraska-Kearney at 10 a.m. and concludes with a 4 p.m. first-service against Northwest Missouri State.


 

Host Missouri Western State is 6-2 on the season and getting 3.3 kills per set from Jessie Thorup and 9.83 assists from Jordan Chohon.


 

Kearney is 8-2 on the season. Kaitlynn Thomas averages 3.22 kills and Lindsey Smith averages 10.81 assists per set to lead the Lopers.


 

Northwest Missouri State is 6-2 and the Bearcats count on Maddy Bruder's 3.46 kills 9.96 assists per set from Sarah Dannattell.


 

OBU is led so far this season by Cat Roth (2.08 kps), Priscila Mendes (2.59 kps) and Kynnedy Myers (8.77 aps) on offense, while Kaitlyn Lucy has been the key defensively, averaging 5.31 digs per set.
