Oklahoma Baptist forced a fourth set but eventually lost to fifth-ranked Wayne State, 3-1, Friday in the opener of the Rockhurst Invitational in Kansas City.
Wayne State won 25-21, 19-25, 25-11, 25-21.
OBU got 10 kills from Priscilla Mendes, nine kills, a solo block, three block assists and an ace from Cat Roth and eight kills and 25 assists from Kynnedy Myers.
Kaitlyn Lucy came up with 33 digs and two aces, while Denise Coroiescu had eight kills and 14 digs. Carey Strong added 12 digs.
OBU returns to action at 5 p.m. against Pittsburg State.
