Bison Punish SNU

Oklahoma Baptist wrapped up at least a tie for second place in the Great American Conference and celebrated Senior Night with a 5-1 win over rival Southern Nazarene Saturday.

Vicente Castillo and Augustine Igboanugo had two goals each and Martin Romero added one in OBU's regular season finale.

OBU got on the board first in the 23rd minute when Castillo scored with an assist from Pablo Garcia. Castillo scored again in the 29th minute with an assist from Joel Langford, who made a strong cross to Castillo for the goal.

That gave the Bison a 2-0 lead that stood through intermission.

Romero scored in the 61st minute when Kervy Robles got him the ball in front of the goal for the goal.

Almost two minutes later Igboanugo took a pass from Castillo and buried his first goal of the night. Igbuanogo scored again in the 85th minute.

Marcus Oliveira turned away four SNU shots on the night.

The Bison had 10 shots on goal, including three by Robles, two each by Castillo and Igboanugo and one apiece by Matthew Giudice, Romero and Langford.

It was the last home match for OBU seniors Oliveira, Langford, Alex Cordero and Andrew Thomsen.

Now 5-12 overall and 3-3 in the GAC, the Bison play in the GAC Tournament starting Nov. 6 in Arkadelphia, Ark.
