Lady Bison Fall to Ouachita Baptist

Oklahoma Baptist dropped a Great American Conference match against Ouachita Baptist 1-0 Saturday afternoon at the OBU Soccer Complex.

The Lady Bison held an 11-7 shot advantage, but were unable to score a goal for the third consecutive match.

At the end of the first half, Oklahoma Baptist had attempted five shots, with goalkeeper Lauren Llanes making two saves to keep the Lady Bison off the board. 

Ouachita capitalized on a misplayed ball late in the second half as Haley Hatcher scored on an open net at the 78:29 mark for the only goal of the match.

Senior midfielder Maddie Windham attempted five shots to lead all players and Reace Cano-Garcia tested the Tigers keeper twice. Mikayla Lowery and Kenzi Bice each attempted a shot on goal for Oklahoma Baptist.

Goalkeeper Emma Beck made two saves for the Lady Bison, and Llanes finished with five saves for the Tigers.

Oklahoma Baptist falls to 4-7 on the year and 2-6 in GAC matches. Ouachita remains in third place in the conference with the win, improving to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the GAC.

The Lady Bison will play their final home match of the season against Southern Nazarene on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m.
