Oklahoma Baptist rallied past Harding for a 2-1 win Thursday night in Shawnee, avenging a 4-0 loss on the road against the Bisons.
OBU fell behind in the ninth minute on a goal by Jackson Buchanan, but tied the score in the 21st minute when Vicente Castillo took a pass from Ruben Basurto and beat the defense for a 1-1 tie.
That score stood through the first half and survived diving saves by both keepers – Marcus Oliveira grabbed a low shot for the Bison and Thomas Shults robbing a headed attempt for Harding.
OBU got the game winner from Matthew Giudice in the 80th minute, using an assist from Augustine Igboanugo.
The Bison had 18 shots, including eight shots on goal. Giudice had four shots on goal for OBU while Igboanugo, Castillo, Kervy Robles and Durham Chilcoat had one each.
Oliveira finished with a seven-save win.
Now 4-10 overall and 2-2 in the Great American Conference, the Bison host Ouachita Baptist at 3 p.m., Saturday.
