Oklahoma Baptist freshman Kynnedy Myers had a triple-double and Denise Coroiescu added a double-double to lead the Lady Bison to a 3-1 win at Southwestern Oklahoma State Thursday.
The 25-21, 20-25, 26-24, 25-20 OBU when keeps the Lady Bison unbeaten in the Great American Conference at 5-0 for a half-game lead over Arkansas Tech.
Myers had 12 kills, 35 assists and 15 digs to go with four blocks for the Lady Bison while Coroiescu collected 17 kills and 19 digs.
OBU trailed early, 5-1, in the first set, before using a 5-0 run fueled by two Myers kills to take a 6-5 lead.
The Lady Bison saw a third-set 24-21 lead slip away to 24-24 before Kate Decker got a kill and then an assist on Coroiescu's set-winning kill, 26-24.
OBU used a kill by Myers and a Carey Strong ace in a 3-0 run to break up a one-point game and take a 23-19 lead. Strong ended the match with a kill.
OBU also had notable performances from Priscila Mendes with nine kills, Nichole Fleitman with six blocks, Kaitlyn Lucy with 19 digs and Strong with 18 digs.
Now 10-7 overall, the Lady Bison return to action Tuesday at No. 40 Arkansas-Fort Smith.
