Ben Cleveland joined the staff of Oklahoma Baptist University as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in 2015. In his role with the Bison he oversees all aspects of the Athletic Training/Sports Medicine department including coordinating, providing and managing the best possible healthcare and wellness for all OBU student-athletes, supervising the athletic training staff and athletic training students, working as the liaison with team physicians and medical providers, serving as drug testing coordinator and the designated NCAA Athletics Healthcare Administrator. He also serves as the sport administrator for the OBU cheer, STUNT and pom programs.
Prior to his arrival on Bison Hill, Cleveland spent seven years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, working primarily with men's soccer and baseball while also tending to other sports as needed and handled administrative duties such as drug testing, budget, insurance and education.
Cleveland served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Florida State University from 2006-2008, working directly with the Seminoles football team. He was an Athletic Training Student at the University of Alabama, working with football, men's tennis and women's gymnastics from 2003-2006 and served as an athletic training intern for the Cleveland Browns during their training camp in 2005.
Cleveland earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Alabama in 2006 and a Master of Science in Education degree with emphasis in Sports Management from Florida State University in 2008.
He is a BOC certified and licensed athletic trainer in the state of Oklahoma and holds certifications including:
- National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)
- National Academy of Sports Medicine Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES)
- Selective Functional Movement Assessment – Level 1 (SFMA)
- Master Dry Needling – Level 1
- Fascial Distortion Method – Lower Extremity Certified

Additionally, Cleveland serves as an adjunct instructor in OBU's Division of Health & Human Performance (HHP).

He resides in Shawnee with his wife, Jordan and their two children, Carson and Lucy Mae.
