Charles Barkman, a 2022 Oklahoma Baptist University alum, is back on campus to serve as assistant coach for the Bison women's soccer program.

He returns to Shawnee after serving most recently as assistant coach of Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C. During the 2025 season, he coached primarily goalies and defenders and helped assist the team to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 10 D2 Conference Championship.

Barkman also led the Wilmington Christian Academy Girl's Team. During the spring 2025 campaign, he coached WCA to a 2A State Championship and earned the NCCSA Coach Award for his efforts.

Furthermore, he was a student-athlete at Division II Delta State University (Gulf South Conference) and spent time at Cape Fear CC and Bob Jones University. During his prep career at Wilmington Christian Academy in North Carolina, he helped the program to a 2017 state championship where he scored 26 goals with 38 assists his senior year.
