Amber Sons

Amber Sons has been a member of the OBU Sports Medicine team since July 2023, when she was hired as an assistant athletic trainer. She works with the Bison women's basketball and softball programs, as well as the Bison Brigade, OBU's award-winning marching band.

Sons came to Bison Hill after serving as a student athletic trainer at Oklahoma State University, where she earned her Master of Athletic Training degree in 2023. During her time in Stillwater, she accumulated more than 1,250 hours of clinical experience across a variety of athletic and healthcare settings.

In addition to working with OSU athletic programs, Sons completed immersive clinical rotations at Oral Roberts University, OSU Medical Center, the Oklahoma Center for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, and Owasso High School.

She earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Texas Tech University, gaining valuable experience with the Red Raider and Lady Raider athletic programs, including Texas Tech football. Sons holds certifications in several specialized areas, including Adult Mental Health First Aid, dry needling, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization.

Professionally, Sons has served on the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Association's Early Professionals Committee and Student Leadership Committee. She is also active in community service and volunteer work through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Life.Church, and Uplift Mentoring.
