Ally Ryan was named graduate assistant for the Oklahoma Baptist softball coaching staff in August of 2026. She enters the coaching realm after a highly successful career at third base for the green and gold.

On the field, she ended her playing career with the second-most home runs in school history (41) and fifth-most RBI (135). Her home-run count was also slotted 11th in NCAA career active leaders. During her sophomore campaign in 2024, Ryan’s 18 home runs were at the time a single-season school record.

Her athletic accolades ranged from being a two-time All-GAC First Team selection in 2024 and 2026 to a GAC All-Tournament Team honoree in 2025. Plus, she was twice named D2CCA All-Central Region.

In the classroom, Ryan left her mark too. She was the program’s first College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honoree in 2024 and she earned four Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete awards. Furthermore, she was named a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete three times (2024-26), the only OBU student-athlete across all sports to earn that many.

She graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Ryan is also engaged to be married to Dominic Dechant in July of 2027.
