Jeremy Hymel

Jeremy Hymel was hired as assistant coach for women's soccer in 2012. He has helped the program to a 115-60-12 record the last 10 years including three conference championships, two NCAA Tournament berths, NCCAA national runner-ups and three 15-win seasons. He has assisted in coaching three All-Americans, two Academic All-Americans, and numerous all conference and all region honorees. Hymel is entering his 11th season coaching the Bison.

Just this past fall, Hymel helped the program win the GAC Tournament Championship and earn its second berth in program history to the NCAA Tournament. OBU posted a 13-6-1 record in the process. 

In the spring of 2021, the Bison were regular season Champions of the Great American Conference. The Bison competed in the fourth straight GAC Championship game, finishing the season as the runner-up. Three of the Bison landed All-GAC First Team and ended the season with a 7-2-2 record. The Coaching staff earned the Central Region Staff of the Year.

In 2019, The Bison were the runner-up in the 2019 GAC Conference Tournament. Finishing another strong season with two All-Region selections for the Bison. The Bison finished the season in 2019 with a 11-7-2 record.

In 2018, Hymel helped the Bison win a GAC Conference Tournament Championship and National Tournament appearance. Nine of the Bison were selected for All-GAC teams in the 2018 season with a 15-5-1 record.

Prior to coaching at Oklahoma Baptist, Hymel coached at Carl Albert High School for seven seasons, where he was an All-State Coach with five district championships, four state regional championships, and four runner-up appearances in the State Finals. In addition, his teams had one Academic State Championship, one Academic Runner-Up finish, and produced numerous All-State players and eventual college athletes.  

Coach Hymel currently holds his National 'C' license through the US Soccer Federation and has obtained his Advanced National Diploma and Goalkeeping Level 2 diploma from the United Soccer Coaches organization. 

Hymel graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1997, earning a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Currently, he is pursuing his Master's of Education in Sports Administration from East Central University.  Hymel, who is a member of LifeChurch in Midwest City, enjoys storm chasing, bass fishing and snow skiing in his spare time.
