Mereta Newpower returned to Bison Hill in January 2020 for a second stint as head coach of the Bison lacrosse program.
She had previously served as head coach for the 2015 season, during which OBU compiled an 11-4 record, including six straight wins to start the season, and a 3-3 mark in the NWLL.Â
During the 2015 campaign, OBU had two 40 goal scorers in Paige Morrison (49) and Hannah Dowell (43). Morrison set school records at the time in goals (49) and points (58) for the Bison. Morrison, along with Allison Ingrim, were NWLL All-West Region selections.Â
Following her time leading the OBU program, Newpower coached a pair of club lacrosse teams in Tenacity10 and Bellaire.
Newpower is a 2014 graduate of OBU, earning a degree in Kinesiology with a focus Physiology and Wellness.
