Jace Brewer

Jace Brewer was hired in June of 2021 as an assistant softball coach in the Bison softball program before being appointed to Head Coach on June 5, 2024.

In 2023, steering the hitting duties for a second-straight season, Brewer saw his group produce program-bests in batting average (.300), home runs (34), hits (451), and RBIs (251). After setting the school record for stolen bases in 2022, the Bison topped the figure with 90 steals that finished second in the Great American Conference. Additionally, Oklahoma Baptist recorded the most sacrifice bunts (55), third-most total bags (630), and fifth-most triples (8) in the GAC.

Brewer coached five All-GAC selections in the Emily Adler, Adi Reese, Kennedy Clark, Morgan Max, and Sammie Greene. Adler was named the GAC's Player of the Year and collected All-Region honors from the D2CCA and NFCA, while Clark garnered Freshman of the Year recognition from the league. OBU finished with the second-most victories in its DII era, posting a 44-12 overall record with a 28-5 mark in conference play, and captured their first-ever GAC regular season title and NCAA tournament win.

In his first season with the Bison (2022), Brewer helped produce a group that tallied 71 stolen bases, the most in OBU's Division II era, and the most home runs (29) since 2019.

Before coming to Bison Hill, Brewer spent eight years as a teacher and coach in his hometown of Washington, Oklahoma. At Washington High School he was a three-time All-State Coach and was a part of five state championships in fastpitch and slowpitch softball. Over his career as a head coach, he brought 15 state tournament appearances to the Washington Warrior softball program, six times getting to the 3A State Championship game in fastpitch.

In 2000, Jace was drafted out of Baylor University in the 5th round of the MLB draft. Brewer spent eight years as a professional baseball player in the Tampa Bay Rays (5), Texas Rangers (2) and Kansas City Royals organizations.

Jace is married to Holli and they have two children: Jax and Haven.
