Zach Blevins joined the Oklahoma Baptist coaching staff in 2020 as the tight ends coach. He has since taken on the recruiting coordinator role (2022) and transitioned into coaching running backs (2022). He enters his fifth season on Bison Hill.Â
Blevins' tailbacks produced over 700 yards and five touchdowns in his first season in the backfield. Blevins pushed through the injury of starting running back EJ Moore, who'd racked up 392 yards, and coached his remaining backs to 308 yards and three scores in 2023.
From 2021-22, his instruction helped tight end Sam Sharp become the OBU Division II all-time leader in yards, receptions, and touchdowns.
In November of 2020, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Sports Recreation and Sports Recreation Management from OBU.
A former member of the Bison football team, e played offensive line all four years, starting three. In 2018, Blevins’s junior season, the Bison O-line led NCAA Division II in pass protection, allowing the fewest sacks (three) of any team in the country.
A native of Cibolo, Texas, he attended and graduated from Byron P. Steele High School. He earned academic and athletic honors including Academic All-State and All-District First Team Offensive Line. He helped the Knights to the Texas 6A State Semifinals as a junior and senior
Blevins is married to Allie, who is also a 2020 graduate of OBU. They have one child, daughter Millie Rose Blevins.
