Message from Coach Whitlock
This note is for all of you that love and respect OBU track and cross country. All of us have some sort of connection to the over 110 years of OBU, and the century-old tradition of competitive track and cross country.
You should be proud to be associated with a program that has won
19 national championships as a team. Bison teams have been national runner-up 12 times. OBU has placed 233 event winners on the top level of the awards podium as national champions. OBU athletes have set 20 national records, one world record, and we have sent 10 athletes to compete in the Olympics. There are over 1,100 former OBU track and cross country athletes that can call themselves All-Americans.
These highlights do not happen without a support system. Support may come in the form of a note to the team before a big meet, or a donation used for equipment like shoes, blocks, or a javelin. You can be involved as the sponsor of an event or award at one of our meets, or give the gift of an endowed award that will continue to help OBU track and cross country athletes as long as there is a campus on Bison Hill. Our athletes would also sense your support as you pray for OBU’s mission of transforming lives to love and serve God.
