SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist (0-2) battled in the opening half but a three-goal second half by the visiting University of Texas at Dallas left the Comets with a 4-0 win on Wednesday.   
 
The Bison held Texas-Dallas off the scoreboard for more than 32 minutes despite sustained pressure from the visitors, who finished with a 23-7 advantage in shots and a 10-0 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Makenzie Christian recorded five saves and helped keep the match close throughout the opening half.
 
UTD finally broke through in the 33rd minute when Ella Spiller scored off an assist from Ella Kelley, giving the Comets a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. OBU managed to keep the deficit at one despite being outshot 11-0 in the opening 45 minutes.
 
The Bison generated more opportunities after the break, recording all seven of their shots in the second half. Hope White, Clara Martin and Annelis Perez each put a shot on goal, but Comets goalkeeper Melyna Martinez stopped all three attempts to preserve the shutout.
 
Spiller added her second goal of the night in the 72nd minute to extend the Comets' lead to 2-0. The visitors then scored twice in just over a minute, receiving a penalty-kick goal from Kyleigh D'Spain in the 82nd before Grace Pritchard found the net 61 seconds later, scoring a highlight reel goal from the corner kick area.
 
White led the Bison with two shots, while Martin added three attempts. Martinez earned the shutout with three saves for UTD, which improved to 3-0 on the season. For Oklahoma Baptist, it fell to 0-2.
