Bison Sweep Today's Doubleheader

BETHANY, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist rebounded in a big way Saturday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader from Southern Nazarene with wins of 6–2 and 7–6 in nine innings at Clark Field. The victories moved the Bison to 38–12 on the season, while the Crimson Storm fell to 27–25.

Game 1 — Oklahoma Baptist 6, Southern Nazarene 2
Oklahoma Baptist used consistent pressure at the plate and a strong complete-game performance from Jaycee Kelln to claim the opener. The Bison struck first in the second inning when Kaylee Davis drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game's first run. OBU added another in the third as Greenlee Wells singled in Katelyn Kilgore to push the lead to 2–0.

Southern Nazarene responded in the third inning with a two-run rally highlighted by a solo home run from Bailey Nettles and an RBI single from Adyson Gaddis to tie the game.
OBU quickly regained control. Nichelle Marshall launched a two-run homer in the fifth, and Oklahoma Baptist added two more in the sixth on an RBI single from Kilgore and a sacrifice fly by Wells.

Kelln shut the door from there, scattering seven hits while striking out nine to earn her 14th win of the season.

Game 2 — Oklahoma Baptist 7, Southern Nazarene 6 (9 innings)
The nightcap turned into an extra-inning thriller capped by a clutch swing from Ally Ryan. Haley Hacker homered in the second to put OBU on the board, but Southern Nazarene answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 2–1 lead.

Oklahoma Baptist tied the game in the fourth when Marshall homered, then surged ahead in the fifth. Ryan delivered an RBI double before Marshall added a two-run double to put the Bison up 5–2.

Southern Nazarene rallied to even the score in the sixth, setting the stage for extra innings.

In the ninth, Greenlee Wells worked a leadoff walk before Ryan crushed a two-run home run to left, giving OBU a 7–5 lead. Southern Nazarene pushed across one run in the bottom of the inning, but Jaycee Shaffer recorded the final outs to secure the win and earn the save.

Naomi Redman earned the extra-inning victory in relief, while Ryan finished the game with three RBI, including the decisive swing.

The day also included two records broken, Greenlee Wells now owns the single season RBI record with 59, and Kaley Cook took the single season stolen bases record with 47.
