SHAWNEE, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist responded to Friday's loss with a resilient Saturday sweep, edging Southeastern Oklahoma State 10–9 in eight innings in Game 1 before walking off 3–2 in Game 2. The wins push the Bison to 31–6 on the season.
Game 1 — No. 14 Oklahoma Baptist 10, Southeastern Oklahoma 9 (8 inn.)
OBU survived a wild opener that featured 19 total runs, three lead changes, and a clutch extra‑inning finish from
Kaley Cook. Southeastern opened with a four‑spot in the first — punctuated by Tally Rowland's grand slam — but OBU punched back quickly.
Greenlee Wells was hit by a pitch,
Alexah Reyes singled, and Cook's sacrifice fly put OBU on the board before
Abby Laskowski drove in another run.
After the Storm stretched the lead to 6–2 in the third, OBU answered with three in the fourth as Laskowski singled home a run and
Haley Hacker crushed a two‑run homer. Hacker later tied the game with her second homer of the day, part of a three‑hit, six‑RBI performance. In extras, Reyes walked and stole second before Cook ripped a walk‑off RBI double to left.
Game 2 — No. 14 Oklahoma Baptist 3, Southeastern Oklahoma 2
OBU struck early as
Greenlee Wells blasted a leadoff homer in the first. That homerun ties the single season record (18) held by teammate
Ally Ryan. Southeastern took a 2–1 lead in the fifth on two unearned runs, but the Bison answered in the sixth when
Abby Laskowski launched a solo homer to right‑center. One inning later,
Nichelle Marshall hammered a 3‑2 pitch over the right‑field wall for the walk‑off win.
Jaycee Shaffer was outstanding in the circle, throwing a complete‑game 7.0 innings with five hits, two unearned runs, and four strikeouts to move to 17–2 on the year.
