Bison Stay Undefeated

EDMOND, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist posted runs in four different innings and held off a late push from Eastern New Mexico to earn a 13–8 win Sunday afternoon at the Lawson Softball Complex.

The Bison opened the scoring in the second inning when Nichelle Marshall reached and later scored on an RBI single from Abby Laskowski to make it 1–0. OBU added three more in the third, using pressure on the bases and productive outs to extend the margin to 4–0.

Eastern New Mexico got on the board in the third, but Oklahoma Baptist responded with its biggest swing of the game in the fourth. The Bison sent multiple runners across the plate during a five-run inning, highlighted by Greenlee Wells' two-run single and a two-RBI base hit by Marshall, pushing the lead to 9–1.

The Greyhounds mounted a comeback in the fifth, scoring five runs to cut into the deficit, and added two more in the sixth to make it 13–8. Oklahoma Baptist answered in the top of the sixth with four key insurance runs, including a two-RBI double from Jessi Hull and an RBI single from Katelyn Kilgore, giving the Bison breathing room down the stretch.

In the circle, OBU used multiple arms, with Jaycee Shaffer closing the door late and striking out four over two innings of relief.

Wells led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Marshall drove in two and Hull added a two-run double. Kilgore had a standout day at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk, and the Bison totaled 12 hits in the win.

Oklahoma Baptist will return to action next week looking to carry momentum forward after another productive weekend at the plate.
