ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Oklahoma Baptist dropped a 4–1 decision to Ouachita on Saturday at Kluck Field.
Ouachita (5-6-4, 4-2-3 GAC) struck early, with McKenna Wright scoring just four minutes into the match. The Tigers doubled their lead in the 39th minute when Maddy Benker finished off an assist from Isabella Savattere to make it 2–0 at halftime.
Oklahoma Baptist (1-10-4, 1-7-1) came out with more urgency after the break, outshooting Ouachita 10–5 in the second half. However, the Tigers extended their lead in the 53rd minute when Olivia Erskine found the back of the net off a feed from Reese Brown.
The Bison responded in the 69th minute as
Lex Williamson netted her fourth goal of the season, assisted by
Sam Sheffield, to cut the deficit to 3–1. Wright then sealed the result for Ouachita in the 79th minute with her second goal of the match, again set up by Brown.
Goalkeeper
Jalen Cramer made four saves for Oklahoma Baptist, while Ouachita's Rylie LeBlanc stopped seven shots to preserve the win. The Bison finished with a 13–16 shot deficit but held a 4–2 edge in corner kicks.
There are three matches left for Oklahoma Baptist this fall. Its next contest comes against East Central on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. in Shawnee.
