ALVA — Oklahoma Baptist created several second-half chances but couldn't break through in a 1-0 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at the Alva Recreation Complex.
The Rangers (9-2-2, 4-2-1 GAC) got the game's lone goal in the 29th minute when Christi-Anne Mills converted a feed from Luana San Miguel, slotting a shot past Bison goalkeeper
Jalen Cramer.
Despite the early deficit, the Bison (1-8-4, 1-5-1) controlled much of the second half, outshooting Northwestern 15-5 after intermission and 17-7 overall. OBU produced eight shots on goal but were repeatedly denied by Ranger keeper Taylor Annen, who finished with eight saves for the clean sheet. It was Annen's seventh shutout of the season, a top-10 NCAA mark.

Tiare Hermosilla led OBU with four shots, including two on frame, while
Jordan Jaye,
Camden Ocheskey and
Sam Sheffield each recorded quality looks. Cramer totaled two saves while anchoring the Bison defense through 90 minutes.
The Bison nearly found an equalizer late, with
Ajae Belliston firing in the final two minutes
, but Northwestern's defense held firm to preserve the 1-0 result.
Oklahoma Baptist will return home next week to continue conference play versus Harding on Oct. 22.
