Jones Tosses Another No-Hitter, OBU Throttles Crimson Storm in Midweek Clash

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist (16-6, 10-0 GAC) posted five runs in the opening inning before tacking on five others across the next few frames to blank Southern Nazarene (16-10, 7-3 GAC) 10-0 in Tuesday's midweek clash at Bison Softball Park.

The Bison stayed perfect in Great American Conference play with their 11th consecutive victory and improved their overall record to 16-6.

OBU was relentless at the plate, compiling 10 hits for the seventh time this season. Ally Ryan led the efforts with a 3-for-3 showing, including two home runs and six RBI.

Morgan Max also homered and drove in another run, while Ayzia Shirey turned in a two-hit day.

Ryan and Max accounted for three of the Bison's five runs in the inaugural inning. Emily Adler drove in a run to start the action before Shirey wrapped up the scoring on a double.

Then, in the second stanza, Ryan's bat rang true again, this time for a three-run addition to put Oklahoma Baptist ahead 8-0.

In the third, Ryan brought in another home, and Max plated Sydney Adler to cement the win.

Kayleigh Jones punched out seven batters en route to yet another no-hitter, the sixth of her career and second this season. It was also her fourth shutout and eighth win.
