WEATHERFORD, Okla.  – The Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer team made the short drive to Weatherford, Okla. to take on rival Southwestern Oklahoma State in sunny Saturday afternoon matchup. For the second season in a row, the regular season matchup between OBU and SWOSU ended in a 0-0 tie.
Â
The Bison and Bulldogs battled for 110 minutes with neither team gaining the advantage. SWOSU posted 10 total shots with four on goal and OBU put up 15 shots with five on goal. Goalkeeper's Ashley Hughes (4) of SWOSU and
Mia Pendleton (5) of OBU both shone, not allowing any soccer balls to reach the back of their respective nets.
Â
Hannah White led the Bison offense with both of her shots landing on goal.
Katie Fowler,
Tori Kitchel, and
Adison Henry accounted for the three other Bison shots on goal.
Â
"The only thing I could ask more from players is to finish and put the ball in the back of the net," said head coach
Mike White. "We created several good opportunities. Their keeper made some very good saves, but we also missed a few sitters. Our defense played phenomenal, and our effort was 100%. We'll sort it out and be ready for Ouachita Baptist," said White.
Â
The Bison will close out their home portion of the regular season when they welcome in Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, April 3. Kickoff for the contest is set for 2 p.m.
