TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Oklahoma Baptist held tough for a half before ultimately dropping a 3-0 decision to the Riverhawks of Northeastern State on Saturday night in Tahlequah. The loss moves the Bison to 1-3 in the expanded Great American Conference this season.
A virtual deadlock after the first half, OBU matched the Riverhawks' seven shots, forcing NSU's Justin Hinman into five saves. Unfortunately, the parity didn't last after the restart, as OBU allowed a goal just 19 seconds into the second half before NSU tacked on an additional two goals to make the final scoreline.
Parker Lawter got the start in goal, going the full 90 minutes while collecting seven saves.
Oklahoma Baptist (3-5, 1-3 GAC) returns to the pitch next Friday, Oct. 4 when they take on rival Southern Nazarene at the OBU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
