SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer was held scoreless for the first time in 2019, falling to Texas Woman's on Saturday afternoon, 1-0, at the OBU Soccer Complex.
After pressing deeper and deeper into the Pioneers' offensive third in the second half, OBU was caught out on a counter late in the match. Haley Ward scored the match's only goal in the 75th minute.
The Bison, who enjoyed a 15-13 advantage and shots, were unable to crack the code of the Pioneers' defense despite putting eight shots on target compared to TWU's three.
Oklahoma Baptist, now 1-2-1 through two weeks' of play, return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 17 when they travel to Tulsa to take on a Division I foe, the University of Tulsa, at 7:30 p.m.
