MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist softball team split a pair of games with Arkansas-Monticello on the first day of the teams' series. The Lady Bison dominated the first game, winning 8-1, before coming up just short in the second game, 4-3.

In game one, OBU tallied a total of 15 hits with
Bry Flanagan leading the team with four. Flanagan led off the scoring, driving in
Kristen Grabin on an RBI single. In the top of the third,
Demi Dobbs doubled to centerfield, batting in Flanagan.
Aspen Grimes followed with a single to center which allowed Dobbs to score. In the top of the fourth, Dobbs hit the game-sealing grand slam, scoring
Cheyenne Demaree,
Franki Hull, and Flanagan.
In game two, the Lady Bison came out strong with both Demaree and Dobbs hitting home runs as OBU took an early 3-0 lead. Monticello ultimately came out on top after taking OBU into extra innings for the win.
Dobbs' two home runs on the day gave her nine for the season, extending her team lead.
OBU concludes the series with the Blossoms on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
