White's Late Goal Leads Bison to Victory

NOBLE, Okla. - Inclement weather forced the Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer team to take to the road and play at Noble High School, needing a turf facility, as they took on the Harding University Lady Bisons. OBU got a late goal from Hannah White to get a key 1-0 win over Harding.

Harding out shot Oklahoma Baptist 11-8 while OBU had a slight 4-3 advantage in corners. The Bison had an advantage in possession with 55% really doing most of their damage in the midfield.

The first half was tough for both sides as they battled the element and wind to try and get looks. Both Tori Kitchel and Reagan Mann got three shots off. OBU held a 6-4 advantage in the first half in shots and a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The second half was more of the same as the weather continued to whip as the rain and wind picked up making it difficult to maintain possession. Both teams struggled to get good looks with the constant rain and elements in their face. Harding did hold a 7-2 advantage in shots in the second half.

OBU finally broke through in the 88th minute as Tori Kitchel, who had a terrific game in her attack, found an opening in the box and send a low pass into the middle of the box, finding White, who finished low to give the Bison a 1-0 lead.

The Bison were able to run the clock out and earn th huge win, keeping them in contention for the GAC Regular Season Title.

Kitchel finished with four shots while Reagan Mann added three on the day. Madison Morgan earned the shutout in goal with three saves on the evening. For White, it was her second goal of the season.

OBU moves to 8-5-1 on the year and 6-2 in the GAC. They return to action on Saturday for Senior Day as they take on Ouachita beginning at 10 AM. Senior Day festiivties will take place following the match.
